Operations Consulting

890perations

We diagnose what is broken in your operations, fix the root cause, and hand back a solution your team can run. Built to the R5 standard.

The Work

Four practice areas. One bar.

We take operational problems that cost you money, time, rework, or market share, and return solutions that stay fixed.

Operations Analysis

Current-state mapping. Friction points, margin leakage, throughput constraints. We walk the floor, talk to operators, and read the data.

Process Architecture

Future-state design. Workflows, controls, handoffs, data flow, exception paths. Defined inputs, defined outputs, inspectable controls.

Voice of the Customer

The people who actually do the work tell us what the manual leaves out. Internal users and trading partners. Findings get back to design.

Solution Delivery

We build or specify the tool. We write the documentation. We train the team. We hand it off in a state they can run.

The Method

The R5 Method.

The bar that separates a deliverable from a solution. Every engagement is designed against five tests, and judged against them at handoff. We list them so you can hold us to them.

  1. R1

    Reliable

It does what it is supposed to do.

  2. R2

    Repeatable

It does it the same every time.

  3. R3

    Resilient

Designed for ease of use. Recovers from operator error.

  4. R4

    Robust

Increased capacity is a core design feature. You do not outgrow it.

  5. R5

    Reusable

One pattern, applied to similar problems across the business.

Founder

Bill Swift.

890 was my callsign in Iraq. 8 was maintenance. 90 was recovery. I drove an M984 wrecker, then M88s. The job was to keep the formation moving and pull broken equipment back into the fight.

Twelve years as an Army NCO taught me that reliability is not a slogan. It is the only acceptable outcome. I do the same work now for businesses. I find what is broken, root-cause it, and recover what is leaking.

The brand is named for the work.

91B Wheel Vehicle Mechanic. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Operations Specialist at HVAC Distributing / MRCOOL since 2024. Scope spans EDI (LogicBroker, 850/855/856/810), NetSuite, retailer compliance regimes, OCR pipelines, and warehouse operations.
